Hot Laundry returns to Denmark!

Hot Laundry er et energisk rock ‘n’ roll-band fra San Francisco, der kombinerer rå energi med elementer af Motown, fuzzede guitarer i stil med MC5 og en solid dosis delta-boogie.

Forsangeren Janette Lopez leverer en kraftfuld vokal, bakket op af Kate Juliana og Gena Serey, der bringer 1960’ernes garageæstetik til live. Bandet skriver sange om hårdt arbejde, svære tider, kærlighed og natlige dansefester, hvilket afspejles i deres medrivende lyd.

I 2022 udgav de debutalbummet Pawn Shop Gold, som blev godt modtaget. Numre som Work It og The Dance fanger deres energiske live-udtryk, og samme år spillede de i Europa og Japan, blandt andet på Gutter Island Music Festival i Danmark.

Bandet består af Lopez på vokal, Grady Hord på guitar, Casey G. på bas og Arun Bhalla på trommer.

Hot Laundry vender tilbage til Europa i 2025, hvor de blandt andet spiller i Danmark på BETA2300 den 6. juni. Med en dynamisk og sveddryppende tilgang til rock ‘n’ roll fortsætter de med at vinde publikum over hele verden.

Grundet renovering bliver vi nødt til at flytte BETA2300s koncerter til Stairway i Vanløse i månederne maj, juni og juli.

The building BETA is located in is undergoing extensive renovation, and it will therefore be difficult to hold concerts at the venue over the summer. Therefore, all shows in the months of May, June and July will be moved to Stairway in Vanløse, so that we can keep the music in focus until the construction on Amager is complete. If you have a ticket for a BETA concert during this period, you must go to Vanløse to experience the concert. The address is: STAIRWAY, Lindehøjen 12, 2720 Vanløse . It is located right next to Vanløse St., where both the S-train and Metro run. Standing spaces If pre-sale is sold out, it will also be sold out at the door. HOT LAUNDRY
plus, Balzac, Tight Pants and the Dynamite

Hot Laundry:
Soulful local garage-rockers Hot Laundry.

In the space of a few short years, Hot Laundry has risen to become a leading light on the local garage-rock scene. Fronted by pint-sized spitfire singer Janette Lopez, the entertaining band matches the vocal harmonies and sass of legendary girl group the Shangri-las and the high-octane R&B of Ike and Tina Turner with the blistering proto-punk guitars of Detroit heroes the MC5.  

Flanked onstage by back-up singers Ileath Bridges and Gena Serey with matching tassled/spangled outfits and tandem dance moves, Lopez and her vocal support provide the visual focal point for the group's entertaining live show that is powered by founding guitarist/songwriter Grady Hord and the rhythm section of bassist Casey G. and drummer Arun Bhalla. 

While Hord was writing material intended for the band as far back as 2017, the sextet didn't make its proper recording debut until the release of their EP Shake Slide Twist in 2021. In addition to building a following around the Bay Area with their regular club appearances, Hot Laundry provided one of the highlights to the Mosswood Meltdown in Oakland that same year.

It didn't take long for Hot Laundry to follow up with its first full-length album early in the summer of 2022. Packed with catchy, fuzzed-out groovers like "Work It" and "The Dance," Pawn Shop Gold manages to capture the kinetic punch of the group's live show. Last year, the band released a new video for their digital single "Made Like This" in addition to making its first trek to Europe to play Gutter Island Music Festival in Denmark, followed by its first performances in Japan as part of Tokyo's two-day Back from the Grave Halloween Ball last October.
